The 72nd Independence Day of India was celebrated at the Embassy of India, Amman with great enthusiasm by a large gathering, including the growing Indian community in Jordan, friends of India in Jordan and well-wishers.

Ambassador of India, Smt. Shubhdarshini unfurled the National Flag, which was followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Ambassador Tripathi addressed the gathering and read out the President of India’s Address to the Nation on the eve of the 72nd Independence Day of India. The audiences were also apprised of various Government of India schemes and requested to participate in the various events organised by Embassy of India in Amman. The programme was followed by light refreshments. Official news agency Petra carried Ambassador’s interview on the occasion, which was picked up by mainstream Arabic media and published on 15 August 2018.
