H.E. Mr. Anil Trigunayat, Ambassador of India called on H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Saif, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation on 30th September, 2014.

Ambassador Trigunayat and Minister Dr. Ibrahim Saif discussed the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme. Ambassador mentioned that Government of India provides large number of scholarship and technical assistance to more than 160 countries globally. Over two dozen fully funded scholarships to Jordanians and the programme is very popular among the Jordanians.

Ambassador enquired about the priorities of his Ministry. The Minister informed that the Ministry of Planning manages relations with the international community, handles the Syrian refugees under the Committee lead by the Secretary General, and also manages the Gulf funded projects and grants.    He also added that his Ministry is preparing the Blue Print for the 2025 economic vision based on the directives of His Majesty and the two countries can collaborate in this venture.  Referring to the developments in India in the last two years, the Minister said that India has a great potential.

Ambassador explainedin detail about the new initiative byHon’ble  Prime Minister NarendraModi about the “Make in India”campaign and also the initiative  of opening bank account of every Indian citizen.
