PASSPORTS FOR CHILDREN UNDER 15 YEARS

Re-issue of Passports for Children under 15 years

A new Passport can be issued on the expiry, or up to one year before expiry of any Passport, which had an initial validity of 5 years.

Requirements:

  1. Application form completely filled in and signed. The signatures of both parents are required to be affixed on the child’s application form, which should match with signatures on their Passports.

  2. 3 (Three) Passport size (35 mm x 45 mm) identical photographs showing frontal view of full face with white background

  3. The current Passport having valid Visa or Residence Permit is required to be enclosed with photocopies of detail pages and Visa. In case the latest Passport is additional booklet(s) issued to the original Passport, the additional booklet(s) plus the original Passport must be furnished.

  4. Original Passports of both the parents are required to be shown at the time of submission of application for issue of Passport for a child and self-attested photocopies of Passports of both parents are also required to be submitted along with the application form for the minor child’s Passport.

  5. For a child with single parent, a sworn Affidavit stating about custody/reason for being single parent and taking legal responsibility for any dispute in future from other parent to be filed.

New Passport Children under 15 years if there are insufficient blank pages in the Passport

If all the pages of Passport have been exhausted, then a new Passport of five years validity from the current date is issued.

Requirements:

  • Application form completely filled in and signed. Thumb impression (either left or right) of the child may be provided at the relevant place of signature of applicant in the application form. The declaration in the form must be signed by both parents, which should match with signatures on their Passports.

  • 3(Three) Passport size (35mm x 45 mm) identical photographs showing frontal view of full face with white background.

  • Full version Birth Certificate of the child mentioning names of both parents is required to be shown and a copy is to be enclosed with the application.

  • Original Passports of both the parents are required to be shown at the time of submission of application for issue of Passport for a child and self-attested photocopies of Passports of both parents are also required to be submitted along with the application form for the minor child’s Passport.

  • For a child with single parent, a sworn Affidavit stating about custody/reason for being single parent and taking legal responsibility for any dispute in future from other parent to be filed.

First Passport for Children born in the Jordan


Child's name cannot be entered in parents’ Passport any longer. A new Passport is issued to the Child. For a child to be given an Indian Passport, the birth must be registered with the Consular Section of the Embassy of India, Amman within one year of birth. If neither of the parents hold valid Visa for stay in Jordan then the child will be issued a short validity Passport for one year, which can be extended later, once either of the parents furnish proof of valid Visa.

NOTE: If the birth registration is not done within one year of the birth of child, Embassy of India, Amman will not be able to register the birth without approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Parents of such child must submit application in two sets, one of which will be forwarded to Ministry of Home Affairs for approval.

Requirements:

  • Application form completely filled in and signed. Thumb impression (left for male or right for female) of the child may be provided at the relevant place of signature of applicant in the application form. Beside, the declaration in the form must be signed by both parents, which should match with signatures on their Passports.

  • 3 (Three) Passport size (35 mm x 45 mm) identical photographs with white background

  • The current Passport having valid Visa or Residence Permit is required to be enclosed. In case the latest Passport is additional booklet(s) issued to the original Passport, the additional booklet(s) plus the original Passport must be furnished.

  • Original Passports of both the parents are required to be shown at the time of submission of application for issue of Passport for a child and Self attested photocopies of Passports of both parents are also required to be submitted along with the application form for the minor child’s Passport;

  • Photocopy of Birth Registration Certificate issued by Embassy of India, Amman.

  • In case more than one year has elapsed since the birth of child or one of the parents hold Jordanian nationality, then a letter from the relevant authority/ies in Jordan stating that the child has not acquired Jordanian nationality would also be required.

    And

An Affidavit from parents that the child has not acquired Jordanian Nationality is also required to be filed at the Embassy of India, Amman;

  • If either of the parents hold a foreign nationality other than Jordanian, then a letter from the concerned Embassy or Mission of that country stating that the child has not acquired nationality of his / her parent would be required.

    And

An Affidavit from parents that the child has not acquired foreign Nationality is also required to be filed. This could be from a Notary Public in Jordan.

Issue of duplicate Passports or Emergency Certificates in lieu of damaged or lost Passports
 

Applications for lost/damaged Passports must be submitted in person by the applicant. Tatkal Scheme is not applicable in cases of lost/damaged Passports.


Requirements:

  • Application form completely filled in and signed.

  • 3 (Three) Passport size (35 mm x 45 mm) identical photographs showing frontal view of the face with white background; (two) additional photographs may be required in some cases where Police verification in India needs to be done.

  • A Police Report regarding lost or stolen Passport.

  • A photocopy of lost Passport/damaged Passport.

  • A sworn Affidavit in the prescribed format. The Affidavit can be sworn at the Embassy of India, Amman itself for an additional fee of JoD 16.5 (including JoD 2.00 as Consular Surcharge) or an Affidavit from a public notary and not a solicitor in the Jordan.

  • Proof of legal stay permission in Jordan. It is necessary to furnish proof of a valid Visa or Residence Permit. If there is no valid Visa or Residence Permit then a short validity Passport for one year would be issued and this could be renewed on annual basis till the Passport holder obtains a valid Visa or Residence Permit, thereafter a full validity Passport can be issued;

For long term residents of the Jordan i.e. more than six months:

  • An Affidavit regarding non-acquisition of Jordanian nationality (to be filed at the Embassy of India, Amman).

  • Letter from concerned authority in Jordan confirming non-acquisition of Jordanian nationality are also required to be furnished.

  • Any other document establishing applicant’s Indian nationality as supporting document like Driving License, PAN card, Ration card, Election ID Card etc in original with a copy (the IDs furnished should preferably be issued by Government of India or other Indian authorities like the state governments etc. IDs issued in the Jordan would be considered only as secondary proof).

  • Personal Particular Form (in duplicate) for Police Verification (available at Embassy of India, Amman counter) may be required to be filled in some cases where identity is not conclusively established.

Renewal of short-validity Passports on emergency/not having valid Visa

  • Application form completely filled in and signed.

  • 3 (Three) Passport size (35 mm x 45 mm) identical photographs.

  • Copy of Visa if available (if applicant is not able to furnish any proof of legal stay then the Passport will only be renewed for another year and not for full validity). Name in Visa document/sticker or Residence Permit should match with that in the Passport otherwise a short validity Passport will be issued in cases where there are minor differences in the name on the Passport and name on Visa / Residence Permit and only after the applicant furnishes correct documents will a normal validity Passport be issued or the validity of the Passport may be extended to normal validity as the case may be. Passport will not be issued if there is a major difference in the name on the Indian Passport and the name on Visa / Residence Permit and the applicant will be asked to rectify / clarify the anomaly and any further services will be extended only after the rectification.
