Introduction of "e-Tourist Visa [eTV]" for Jordanian national

Government of India has decided to extend e-Tourist Visa [eTV] facility for Jordanian national visiting India w.e.f 27th November, 2014 based on reciprocity and recognizing our age old warm, cordial and friendly relations with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in all fields.

Under the scheme, Jordanian nationals visiting India for tourism such as recreation, sightseeing, short duration medical treatment, casual business visit, casual visit to meet friends or relatives etc. may apply for and get their e-Tourist Visa [eTV online from his/her home country without visiting to the Embassy of India in Amman.  The prospective Jordanian tourist will get Electronic Travel Authorization [ETA] from the Indian authorities once their online application gets approved, entitling them to enter India anytime within 30 days of the approval.  On arrival, the visitor has to present the printout of the authorization to the Immigration authorities for other formalities including capturing of Biometric data on arrival at Airport.

Other salient features of the eTV are as follows:

1. eTV is valid for 30 days with Single Entry facility through 9 designated international airports viz Bangalore, Chennai, Kochin, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram.
2. Potential visitor should travel to India only on receipt of ETA, the printout of the ETA required to be provided at the Immigration Counter at the Airport.
3. eTV shall be non-extendable and non-convertible.
4. Only two visits on shall be permissible in a calendar year.
5. Sole objective of visiting India for tourism such as recreation, sightseeing, short duration medical treatment, casual business visit, casual visit to meet friends or relatives etc
