The number of Jordanian alumni of Indian universities is over 2500. India is committed to sharing its developmental experience with Jordan through capacity building programmes under our ITEC programme. We offer 26 slots every year to Jordanian candidates under the ITEC programme. In addition, ICCR offers 05 (five) annual scholarships to meritorious Jordanian students for higher education in India. It is a matter of satisfaction that Jordanian nationals have been making good use of the training opportunities under these programmes offered by the GoI.
An agreement was signed between the Amity University Online, India and the Talal Abu Ghazaleh University in 2015 paving way for access to online higher education on a range of streams. Under this agreement, the Amity University Online, India agreed to provide a total of 33 online courses in different fields including four Bachelor degrees; nine Masters degree, 17 Executive certificates/courses and three Foreign Language Diplomas.
During the visit of Hon’ble Rashtrapatiji to Jordan in 2015, 10 MoUs in education field were signed as under :-
i. 4 Separate MoUs signed between IIT Kharagpur; University of Delhi; Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Milia Islamia – with University of Jordan;
ii. 4 Separate MoUs signed between Al Al-Bayt University; Yarmouk University; Al Balqa Applied University; Isra University with Jamia Milia Islamia;
iii. IIT-Kharagpur signed an MoU with Princess Sumaya University for Technology;
iv. MoU between University of Delhi and Isra University of Jordan.
